Breakdance is experiencing another wave of interest throughout the world. The EDGE Breakers program, directed by our great friend Darrell Shaft, is designed to introduce and promote the unique musical and physical stylings of breakdancing in a positive, non-competitive classroom setting.

IMPORTANT NEWS!
The EDGE will be holding classes at
The Veterans Memorial Building
at 16th and Willamette for this year only!

We are still working with the City of Eugene
on a conditional use permit for
our Harris Street location. We hope to have our Grand Opening there in September of 2008.

The EDGE program blends the fluidity of dance with the excitement of tumbling. The program provides a professional foundation combined with creative flair and the mood is one of fun tempered with discipline. The environment is non-competitive, yet challenging.

The EDGE offers classes from beginning through advanced levels, ages 6 and older. Watch for “The EDGE Performance Group” at athletic events, fairs and many city events.

“In my 25 years of gymnastics experience, I have not met an instructor who has a more refreshing approach to movement education. Geni exudes a rare combination of technical expertise and infectious enthusiasm. She is one of the most sought after coaches in the Pacific Northwest.”
David Eggers, M.D.
Former Boys Director and Elite Coach,
National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics
Eugene, Oregon

“Anyone who can get a group of boys who have never danced before to not only dance but to love it, knows how to inspire kids. Geni did just that!”
Rich Gustafson, M.S.
Owner/Director AcroVision Sports Center—Bend, Oregon

“Wherever she goes, whatever she does, Geni creates the glow of pride in a child’s eye, the radiance of discovery, excitement and enthusiasm for the difficult task. One has only to see her command 100 rowdy kids to know that “awesome” is the perfect word.”
Sian Zander
Artistic Director, Oregon Coast Ballet Company
Newport, Oregon

“Geni’s influence and expertise is obvious as you watch her work with even the youngest students. The proud smiles on the faces of all the kids shows that they are getting much more than physical skills. The self-esteem they are acquiring is the stuff that makes our world a better place!”
Mary Seereiter, MS, BMC, CMA, RMT
Director of Dance, Lane Community College
Eugene, Oregon

EDGEWear & Motion Sports (leotards, tights etc.) will be available in the EDGE store in the studio office.

Proceeds earned through EDGE fund-raising events during the 2007/08 season will go to our EDGE Scholarship Program. This program provides a student or students the opportunity to attend classes who would otherwise be unable to. (Applications by personal request.)

This showcase of local talented dancers and eclectic choreographers, sponsored by The EDGE and including EDGE performers, provides a financial and publicity/citizen-education boost for a different local, non-profit group every year. The next show will be February 8, 2008.
